Finally Christmas 2014 has arrived, and we all are ready for fun, friends and family gatherings and most importantly tasty food, Food represents our traditions, especially on festivals, and children or adult both love to indulge themselves in festival activities. We have collected the traditional and your favorite recipes for organized and fun cooking.
Ambrosia
Let's start with Ambrosia, according to ancient Greek mythology, Ambrosia is referred as food of the Greek Gods.
So lets get our feast started in a traditional manner.
For Ambrosia we need:
6 Oranges
1-1/2 Cup Pineapple, Chopped
2 Apples, Chopped
1 Cup Flaked Coconut
1 Cup Walnuts, chopped
2 Cups Sugar
Whipped Cream (optional)
Cherries (optional)
How to make - Peel the oranges and cut into halves. Mix and toss all the ingredients together.
Store in covered container, and keep in refrigerator for for few hours, though traditionally it should be kept in refrigerator for 24 hours.
Nowadays we add whipped cream and cherries also, so you can do that as well if desired.
Marshmallows can also be added.

2 tablespoon Tomato ketchup
2 Stalks of Celery, chopped
1/2 Green Pepper, chopped
1-1/2 teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon onion Pulp
1 teaspoon Horseradish pulp
How to make - Boil tomatoes and Celery, now add salt and pepper, and boil for 5 minutes. Then rub through a sieve.
Now add pulp of Onion, horseradish and ketchup. Now mix well with a beater, and keep in a refrigerator.
Beat once again before serving.

plum pudding
Plum Cake is a traditional Serving for Christmas and loved by all.
For plum cake we need:
2 tablespoon Gelatin (granulated)
1 cup water
1 pint Milk
1 Cup Sugar
5 egg whites
1-1/2 squares chocolate
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1 Cup Raisins
3/4 cup Dates
1/2 cup Currants
1/2 cup nut meats
1/8 teaspoon Salt
How to make - Dissolve Gelatin in water for 10 minutes.
Melt Chocolate with 1/2 cup Sugar, when melted add little bit of milk to make a thick paste. Heat the remaining milk and now add it in the chocolate, then add remaining Sugar and Salt.
Now mix the soaked gelatin, and stir the mixture nicely. Remove from heat and let it cool, when lukewarm add Vanilla, all the fruits and nut meats, and egg whites.
Pour the mixture in a mold and keep in refrigerator until it becomes firm.
Serve with your choice of sauce.
You can use Foam sauce or hard Sauce, see their recipes above.

Herb chicken with SUN-DRIED tomatoes
You love to serve something new rather than traditional recipes, then this one is for you.
For herb Chicken with Sun dried Tomatoes we need:
5 Boneless Chicken Breasts
50g Sun dried Tomatoes, chopped
1 tablespoon Parsley, chopped
3 tablespoon Chives
1 tablespoon Basil, chopped
150g Cream Cheese
1 Egg Yolk
2 teaspoon lemon Juice
Black Pepper
Salt
Honey
How to make - Preheat the Oven to 200C. In a bowl mix, Parsley, Chives, Basil, Cheese, Lemon Juice, Egg Yolk and Tomatoes.
Now loosen the skin on chicken breast, while keeping 1 side attached, stuff the prepared filling, and cover with skin again. Place the Chicken in roasting pan, season with pepper, salt and honey. roast for 30 minutes or until cooked properly.
For sauce we need:
150 ml White Wine
2-1/2 cups Cream
1 tablespoon Parsley, chopped
Salt
Pepper
Put wine into a pan and boil until it get reduced to around 3 tablespoon, now add cream and cook until the mixture thickens. Add salt and pepper and remove from heat and add Parsley.
Serve sauce with the prepared Chicken.
For herb Chicken with Sun dried Tomatoes we need:

1 Cup Tapioca
6 Apples
1 cup Sugar
Little Nutmeg
Water
How to make - Soak tapioca in water for 4-5 hours. Now peel and core the apple and keep aside. To make filling for apple mix sugar, nutmeg and a cup of water together, now fill the apples and bake for one hour or until apples starts drying. Now pour over the tapioca and bake for another hour.
Can be served with Hard Sauce.

It should not be watery but should not be golden brown as well, now spread jelly on top and the pour egg whites beaten with a small cup of Sugar to form a stiff froth. Now put again in the oven until brown.
Serve when cold.

orange drop cookies
These cookies are best for you if time is running and you still have lots of preparation to make. This is a quick and easy recipe for orange Cookies.

4 tablespoon Butter
2 Eggs
1 Cup Sugar
4 tablespoon Orange Juice
4 tablespoon Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon Salt
How to make -
To make orange drop cookies, begin by creaming together the grated orange rind, butter and sugar. Then add the well-beaten eggs and the orange Juice. Sift in together the flour, the baking powder and the salt. Now just drop the batter by spoonfuls onto a greased baking sheet and bake in a moderately hot oven,(375 to 400 degrees Fahrenheit). Bake for 10 minutes.

Now pour in shredded coconut and toasted breakfast-cereal flakes which you have crushed in your hands. Add few drops of almond flavor. Now drop the batter by spoonfuls on oiled paper and bake in a very moderate oven, (300 to 325 degrees Fahrenheit) for about 20 minutes.

3 Egg Whites
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/2 teaspoon Almond Flavoring
How to make - Mix sugar, flour, salt and peanuts together, then beat the egg whites stiff. Add the almond flavor to the egg whites. Fold the egg whites into a mixture of peanuts, sugar, flour and salt. Drop by small spoonfuls well apart on a greased baking sheet. Bake in a very moderate oven for about 15 minutes, or until the crisps are light brown in color.
