Baked rice
1 Cup Rice
1/2 pound Cheese 1 Cup Milk 1/2 teaspoon Salt A dash of Cayenne pepper |
Boil the rice for twenty minutes, wash, and drain. Grate the cheese. Put a layer of rice in a baking dish, then a layer of cheese, flavoring with salt and cayenne, alternate rice and cheese until you have the ingredients used. Pour in the milk, cover the pan, and bake in a quick oven twenty minutes.

Caramelized Rice with Apple
1 Cup Sugar
1/2 Cup Rice 2-3 Apples |
Caramelize sugar in a saucepan. Add three cups of boiling water; simmer and stir frequently until smooth, then add rice. Boil for five minutes and strain the water.Take a pudding dish and place sliced cooking apples and add the caramelized rice. Place in a hot oven and stir down frequently until the rice is soft. Bake 20 minutes. Serve cold with cream or your choice of sauce.
